Goodbye - Air Supply

Air Supply Song Lyrics - Goodbye
Air Supply  - Goodbye
 "Goodbye Lyrics"

I can see the pain living in your eyes
And I know how hard you try
You deserve to have so much more

I can feel your heart and I sympathize
And I'll never criticize all you've ever meant to my life

I don't want to let you down
I don't want to lead you on
I don't want to hold you back
From where you might belong

You would never ask me why
My heart is so disguised
I just can't live a lie anymore
I would rather hurt myself
Than to ever make you cry
There's nothing left to say, but goodbye

You deserve the chance at the kind of love
I'm not sure I'm worthy of
Losing you is painful to me

I don't wanna let you down
I don't wanna lead you on
I don't wanna hold you back
From where you might belong

You would never ask me why
My heart is so disguised
I just can't live a lie anymore
I would rather hurt myself
Than to ever make you cry
There's nothing left to say, but goodbye

You would never ask me why
My heart is so disguised
I just can't live a lie anymore
I would rather hurt myself
Than to ever make you cry
There's nothing left to try
Though it's gonna hurt us both
There's no other way than to say goodbye

It's a classic 90's pop ballad. Very famous song from Air Supply. In 90's when you walked around the mall or market place or in radio station, you would heard this song played over. When we read the lyrics, seems that the writer tells us that the "goodbye" is a must for their relationship. You can read it in this verse : I don't wanna let you down, I don't wanna lead you on, I don't wanna hold you back, I just can't live a lie anymore (?) A lie ? seems the girl's been just perfect while he might have had not been as faithfull. It can means as well that the girl has bigger dreams, and the guy thinks his stopping her from achieving it. But the rumor that the two guys in Air Supply are gay also connected to the interpreation of this song, but as far as I know the rumors aren't true.
