The story of Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy but Taylor makes it happier in this song. This is an alternative world that Taylor made for Romeo and Juliet. She tries to imagine what would have happened if the two hadn't committed suicide. Try to read the lyrics carefully and you will find that there are a lot of lines seem likes they connect to the story of Romeo and Juliet. But this is just an interpretation and not to ruin what Shakespeare made at all. Or we can see it as a child memory about she and he in the past time and they get a happy ending at the end of the story. Yes, this is a lovely love song and so beautiful. Romeo and Juliet became a perfect story with a tragedy, but Taylor has made a better ending in this song, so they are not the same story anymore.
